All serious percussionists know how delicate and beautiful the marimba is to play and listen to. They also know how expensive the instrument is, and that practice space and time isn’t very easy to come by. However, there are two great options below to practice mallet technique, while saving up to purchase the real thing:
-For those with a slightly bigger budget, I highly recommend Beetle Percussion‘s excellent Mallet Pad Tire Bars! Owner Bradley Lomax and I go back to our undergrad days at Washburn University, and his company’s practice pads are terrific in look, feel, playability, and...smell (tire enthusiasts will understand this)!
